Graham Beck Cuvée Clive: The premium sparkling wine from South Africa

The Cuvée Clive is an elegant and complex sparkling wine in the brut flavor, which represents the pinnacle of production at Graham Beck. Hence the addition “Prestige Cuvée” on the label. It consists of the two grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which are also mainly used for the production of Champagne. The winery calls the complex bottle fermentation process Method Cap Classique. This excellent sparkling wine is only available in the best vintages and in small editions.

For the Graham Beck Cuvée Clive, the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in small containers. After the grapes are gently pressed, the must is fermented into wine in stainless steel tanks. Now the process of making sparkling wine begins. The wine is poured into the bottles along with a mixture of yeast and sugar, where it undergoes the second fermentation to produce sparkling wine. The bottles are then stored on the lees in the winery's cellars for another five years, where the Cuvée Clive matures to perfection.

The Graham Beck Cuvée Clive is a dry sparkling wine with a fine perlage whose primary characteristics are elegance, finesse and complexity. Aromas of ripe citrus fruits and apricots unfold in the nose, underlined by a slightly nutty note, as can also be found in high-quality champagne. The taste is fresh and lively, the good extract ensures a long-lasting aftertaste. The Graham Beck Cuvée Clive is an ideal aperitif and accompaniment to light dishes such as fish, seafood or vegetables.
