Mont-Redon produces an excellent red Côtes-du-Rhône from locations near Tavel and Lirac, as well as north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is self-confidently called "Le Côtes-du-Rhône du Château". The warm climate of the southern Rhône results in ripe grapes that produce a full and soft wine, the mistral wind ensures good ventilation of the vines, so that the grapes can usually be harvested in a very healthy manner.
The Mont-Redon Côtes-du-Rhône consists mainly of the typical Rhône grape varieties Grenache Noir and Syrah, plus smaller parts Mourvedre and Carignan. The grapes are completely separated from the stalks in order to obtain a soft wine character, as is typical for this growing area, and then selected by an optical sorting system for their suitability for the high quality standards of the Abeille-Fabre family.
The red Cotes-du-Rhone Mont-Redon has notes of red and dark berries, plums and herbs. On the palate it is full and supple, the tannins are in the background, giving just the right support for the opulent body.
An ideal accompaniment to dishes from the grill, stews, game and firm cheeses.
