The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is one of the greatest dry white wines in the world. A sublime wine in its cool tautness and depth, very complex and equally long-lasting.
Chapuis & Chapuis only make a few bottles of this special wine; in bountiful years there are sometimes two barrels, in smaller quantities there is sometimes just one. Here too, as little intervention as possible is made in the winemaking process; fermentation takes place only with natural yeasts, and sulfur is used very little and only during bottling. After 12 months in barriques it is bottled, usually without fining or filtration.
The depth of this wine comes on the one hand from the top location Corton-Charlemagne and also from the old Chardonnay vines of the Chapuis plot, which were planted in the 1960s to 1980s.
A very special wine.
