Collioure is located in Northern Catalonia, the French part of Catalonia, the southernmost corner of France's Mediterranean coast. The spectacular terraced vineyards with panoramic water views are among the most impressive in the world.
The AOP Colliure designates the dry wines, the AOP Banyuls comes in principle from the same locations, but is reserved for the sweet Vin Doux Narurel.
The Cornet & Cie Collioure by Cave de l'Abbé Rous is made from the traditional grape varieties of Roussillon, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre and Syrah from very low yields of only 25 hl/ha are the basis for this equally intense and charming red wine.
The Collioure Cornet & Cie has a medium to darker red color (the Grenache is not too intensely colored). The scent is reminiscent of Mediterranean herbs, cherries and blackberries. The latter are also very present on the palate, the tannins are soft, the wine has a warming fullness and a lot of charm.
We particularly recommend this Collioure with stews, grilled meat, pizza, burgers, meat fondue and game dishes. Of course, it just works that way. e.g. in front of the fireplace with a good book.
