The Clos Saint-Florent is a 1.8 hectare single location on the historic grounds of the Abbey of Saint-Florent, which is now exclusively owned by Langlois-Château - or as recently just "Langlois" - is managed. It belongs to the AOP Saumur.
The Cabernet Franc vines for this wine were planted in 1965 and 1969, so they have a considerably high average age, which gives the wine a wonderful depth and complexity. The Clos Saint-Florent rouge is made in Burgundian pièces of 228 liters, of which around 10% is renewed per harvest. A subtle oak tone is achieved, which leaves the terroir plenty of space to develop.
