Château Siaurac is one of the best wineries in Lalande de Pomerol and also probably the most beautiful estate in this AOC. Since 1832 the estate belonged to the Guichard Goldschmidt family. In 2014 the family sold part of Siaurac to the owner of Chateau Latour, who took over the rest in 2017 when Paul Goldschmidt retired. Since 2020, the winery has belonged to Suravenir Insurance, which also owns Château Calon-Segur in Saint-Estephe and has led it to the absolute top.

Château Siaurac owes its high quality to its location on the border to Pomerol and the similar soil structures to its neighbors. The 46 hectares of vines are planted in one piece and are planted with 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec. We have been working organically since 2016, and 2020 will be the first vintage to be certified organic.

The Chateau Siaurac 2018 is a typical representative of this opulent and very mature vintage. It is dark in color with a purple rim. It smells of ripe blueberries and blackberries, plums and vanilla. On the palate it is juicy but avoids exaggerations, the wine is perfectly balanced despite its 14.5% alcohol. The finale is beautifully soft and full-bodied. Here you get a real Pomerol feeling for half the price!

Decanter magazine rates the 2018 Chateau Siaurac with 91/100 and writes: "A great Siaurac this year..., this is a lovely wine with grip and delicacy."
