Chateau Léoville Poferré is definitely one of the very best Médocs of the 2003 vintage.
Sample note Frank Rembold December 2023: still very dark in color without any signs of ripeness. Powerful Cabernet on the nose, again very young, no overripeness or heat noticeable. Powerful tannins on the palate, reminiscent of a younger version of the 1986 Gruaud Larose with its tannins sticking to the palate and high extract and impressive length. Actually, he still needs at least 5 years of maturity to show everything. 19/20
