The Labbé-Lalanne family has been cultivating wine at Chateau Lassalle in the Graves region for eight generations. Of the sixteen hectares of vineyards, nine are planted with red and seven with white vines, as is quite common in the Graves area, famous for its dry white wines. Since 2005, Fabien Lalanne has taken the reins and taken quality to new heights.

The vineyards, which are inclined to the north-east, give the white wine an invigorating freshness, the Sauvignon aroma is a hint of greenish, but is never intrusive. This wine gets depth and complexity from a parcel of Semillon vines that come from 1946. Half of the Lassalle Graves Blanc consists of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, which are matured in barriques for eight months.

The 2021 Chateau Lassalle Graves Blanc is stunningly beautiful. He finds the perfect balance between exotic Sauvignon fruit, the delicately creamy body and a subtle and well-dosed wood tone. The wine is just great fun. Wow! We particularly recommend this white Bordeaux with fish in a white wine sauce, crustaceans, scallops and a cheese platter.

Unfortunately, ratings for this charming white Graves are rare, after all there are the following: 89/100 for the 2019 vintage and 88/100 for the 2020 vintage from Decanter magazine.
