Château Laroze in Saint Emilion has a long history that can be traced back to 1610. The 27 hectares of vineyards are located directly around the château, which was built in 1882, and are mostly planted with Merlot, plus around a quarter of Cabernet Franc, and the rest is divided into smaller parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Malbec and Petit Verdot are usually only added to the second wine.

The Chateau Laroze is treated to an impressive two-thirds share of new barriques per vintage. This shows the high standards with which one acts here. The quality of the wines at Château Laroze has increased significantly in recent years. Here you can get authentic Saint-Emilion of breathtaking quality at a reasonable price. The excellent 2020 vintage is exemplary for a first-class Saint-Emilion and will give great pleasure for many years to decades.

The DECANTER magazine rates the 2020 Chateau Laroze with a remarkable 93/100 points, tasted twice, by Jane Anson and Georgina Hindle. The latter writes: "Juicy and supple, with lovely fleshy tannins - not chewy but mouthfilling with a chalky texture. I also really like the cool blue fruits and salty touches. It's not the most detailed right now, but is fresh and feisty. Bold and characterful, perhaps stops a little short, the texture just taking away from the fruit persistency, but this has structure and feels well worked. It's dark and brooding, the liquorice is apparent, but this will be delicious."
