Château Laroque is one of the most spectacular risers of recent vintages. This winery used to be known more as a supermarket Grand Cru Classé, never intoxicating, but quite cheap for this classification. That has changed dramatically since David Suire took the reins here in 2015. The leap in quality is also documented by the newly designed label.
The 2020 is once again a highlight of these efforts, well-known wine newspapers are enthusiastic and write about one of the best vintages of all time at Chateau Laroque.
William Kelley from Parker's Wine Advocate speaks of a "rising star from Saint-Emilion".
Georgina Hindle from DECANTER gives it 94/100 and describes the 2020 Chateau Laroque as a quote: "Ripe, juicy and so seductive."
Chateau Laroque should be on your list in the future when it comes to the best Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Emilion.
