As usual with Jean Loron's wineries, the Château de Mirande is an incredibly beguiling and flattering white Burgundy. It is aged without contact with wood, but with a 6-month yeast storage period, which gives the wine depth and structure. It also comes from a vineyard with Chardonnay vines that are on average forty years old, which gives the wine complexity and depth.
The Macon-Villages Château de Miarnde has an open and intense nose in which one can perceive citrus fruits, pears and melted butter. On the palate it is juicy and full, the long finish has creamy tendencies and still a certain freshness. A lot of Burgundy for little money.
