Château d'Ampuis is the residence of the Guigal family and the name of this vineyard cuvée from seven excellent steep sites from Guigal in the Cote-Rotie, namely Le Clos, La Garde and La Grande Plantée, which are located in the Côte Blonde and the Côte Brune locations La Pommière, Le Pavillon Rouge, Le Moulin and La Viria. The average age of the vines is around 50 years.
Agreat Syrah, complemented by 7% of the fragrant white Viognier, which supports the unique character of this AOP. A wonderful Côte-Rôtie, wonderfully matured and with a lot of noblesse, from one of the best producers in the Rhône Valley. The 2004 vintage of this wine has now matured beautifully, a delight for fans of subtle Syrah.
