The Chardonnay Sülzner Weg by Wageck has a haunting power and fullness, without sacrificing elegance. A typical characteristic of this excellent vintage. Thomas Pfaffman describes the Sülzner Weg as a "Grand Cru location" for Chardonnay. In fact, it has a Burgundian Chardonnay nose with an emphatically noble but unobtrusive oak barrel tone. Clear, elegant, long, Burgundian finesse on the palate, straightforward, complex and deep. With all its power and length, it also has a lot of freshness. One of the best white Burgundy wines in Germany for only €20 in the mid-range. Well done!
Falstaff magazine awarded an impressive 94/100 here and wrote in April 2020: "Floral on the nose, ripe sunflower, papaya and quince, mineral shimmer, floral notes. Very powerful on the palate, the acidity is present and there Filigree, not flattering with its addition of tannins and phenolics, with a nice drinking flow. Good length and still very young."
