This Chardonnay from the Top Winery Markowitsch (5/5 stars Falstaff Magazine) from the Carnuntum wine-growing region is the fruity variant of this grape variety. After being harvested by hand, it is produced without contact with wooden casks in order to obtain a fruit-focused Chardonnay. It is matured in steel tanks, where it rests on the fine lees for a long time, giving the wine stability and a certain structure.
This excellent Carnuntum Chardonnay finds the balance between its intense fruity aromas reminiscent of ripe citrus fruits, pears and herbs and an amazingly fresh and lively taste on the palate that you wouldn't believe from the full nose. This wine also has a lot of local character. The Chardonnay Markowitsch does not try to imitate other wines. It is simply itself and of course first-class preparation, like everything from what is probably the best winery in the entire wine-growing region.
The Markowitsch family particularly recommends their Chardonnay with pasta filled with vegetables, mushrooms or truffles. Also with grilled fish and the classic Austrian dish called Tafelspitz.
