The Domaine des Genèves owns a 1.4 hectare plot in one of the very best 1er Cru vineyards in Chablis, the Mont de Milieu. This borders the Chablis Grand Cru hill and produces wines rich in substance that taste well when young but can also be aged for a long time. Stéphane Aufrere, owner of the winery, can rely on vines that have a remarkable average age of 40 years.
The 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu is the top wine from the Domaine de Genèves. It is vinified in thermoregulated vats, where fermentation and aging take place. 2020 was an excellent year with wines rich in extracts that, despite the heat in summer, have a remarkable freshness with the best balance.
The Mont de Milieu 2020 has reached its first phase of ripeness, its complex aromas unfold and are reminiscent of exotic fruits with a fine minerality, it has a beautiful balance between roundness and grippy substance. In its long finish you can discover delicate brioche aromas.
The Domaine des Geneves prefers a classic style for its Chablis wines, wood aromas are out of the question. Cultivation takes place via sustainable agriculture, HVE certified.
