The label of this Emilia Rosso IGT from Romagnoli features the image of the famous baroque painter Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. The picture shows Caravaggio's painting "The Calling of Matthew" from 1599.

The wine in this bottle, Michelangelo da Caravaggio Emilia Rosso IGT, is very contemporary. A juicy and soft semi-dry red wine with a modern Italian style, which is highly praised by wine critic Luca Maroni and was awarded a gold medal at both Mundus Vini and the Berlin Wine Trophy, which underlines first-class winemaking. It consists of the grape varieties Croatina (Bonarda), Barbera and Merlot, which were aged in small wooden barrels.

This wine can be seen as a northern Italian answer to the successful Primitivo wines.
