Since the 2020 vintage, the Cabernet Sauvignon Grande Reserve from Domaines Paul Mas has been certified organic. Stylistically, this doesn't change anything, after all, the three predecessors were already grown in this way, but still without the certificate, as a conversion phase lasting several years is required.

Paul Mas bottles the best plots planted with Cabernet Sauvignon separately and then calls them Cabernet Sauvignon Grande Reserve after about six months of barrel aging. The vineyards for this wine were already trimmed for low yields and the associated higher quality when they were planted. The vines are planted closely and have now reached an average age of over 25 years.

This intense and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon shows the typical nose of this grape variety with its aroma of ripe cassis. Refined with a subtle barrique tone, there are also cocoa and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is open, juicy and again with intense fruit, the tannins fit perfectly and give the long finish a nice tension. As always with Paul Mas you have to praise the excellent price-enjoyment ratio.
