A legendary wine from Bairrada/Portugal. For a long time only available to guests of the Palace Hotel de Bussaco, it is now also available on the open market. The relatively cool growing zone ensures a red wine rich in finesse with structure and great length. The wines can be ancient, which you can see for yourself in the hotel restaurant. The Portuguese spelling Buçaco is used in the same way as the international version: Bussaco.
2015 was a first-class Bussaco vintage, after bottling was even dispensed with in the small year of 2014. 2015 is one of the biggest years ever on the estate.
Wine author Hugh Johnson dedicated a separate page to the wines of Bussaco in his book "The Great Johnson". Only a few wineries had this privilege, such as the icons Chateau Pétrus and the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.
