The white wine from Brancaia has been made 100% from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety since the 2021 vintage, before that 10% Viognier was also used. Basically it has not changed, it is still a fresh and aromatic white wine, ideal for all dishes from the sea, as well as for summer cuisine in general.
The vines are in the Chianti communities of Castellina and Radda on loamy, sometimes sandy soils. It also generates power and aroma from storage, one third in barriques and two thirds from steel tanks. The wine is on the lees for five months. The biological acid degradation is prevented to emphasize the freshness.
You don't necessarily have to drink the white Brancaia young, it keeps very well in the bottle, and it's still a lot of fun at least 5 years after the harvest. Aromatically it is reminiscent of ripe apple, mango and pineapple. The body is medium full, the wine is lively and invigorating.
