The Rioja Tempranillo de Laderas is the basic quality of Bideona, made from younger vines in high-quality vineyards with limestone soil on the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria. The meticulous work of the winery is already clear here, the wine is fresh, precise and a typical representative of the Basque part of the Rioja, the high-altitude Rioja Alavesa.
About a quarter of the Laderas is matured in French and American oak barrels, so that the wine becomes aromatically more complex and structured on the palate, without overpowering the fruit and the terroir. Aromatically, this Rioja Alavesa from Bideona is reminiscent of ripe red berries, cherries and Mediterranean herbs. Medium-bodied on the palate, pleasantly drinkable, with fine fruit, ripe tannins and excellent balance.
This Rioja Alavesa offers many possible combinations with Spanish dishes, tapas with meat, spicy grilled dishes or rice or pasta dishes. The Tempranillo de Laderas already tastes delicious when young, but can also easily stand a few years of bottle aging.
