The Domaine Antonin Guyon has a monopoly site of just 0.77 hectares in Beaune, the Clos de la Chaume Gaufriot. This is 100% Pinot Noir, on a clay-limestone soil that is ideal for this vine. Hand-picking is a given here. After fermentation, this delicate Beaune matures for 15 months in small oak barrels, called pièce in Burgundy. Around 20% of the barrels were new. 2019 was a vintage with very low yields of highly concentrated wines. It is considered one of the greatest vintages of the last 20 years on the Côte de Beaune. The Wine Spectator gives the 2019 vintage 95/100 points, which is otherwise only given to 2015. The Guyon Beaune Clos de la Chaume Gaufriot impresses with its subtle aromas reminiscent of red berries and vanilla. The wine has a silky texture and good body due to its good extract. The long finale is characterized by perfect balance. Beautiful!
