The Appassimento 14 from Contessa Marina is now available. With this method, the grapes are dried in order to obtain a higher concentration in the must and thus in the later wine. The grapes for the Contessa Marina 14 grow in Apulia, on the heel of Italy. Different types of grapes are used for this full-bodied red wine, the basis is the local Negroamaro, plus Lambrusco and Montepulciano.
The Appassimento 14 has a dark red color. In its scent you can find aromas of dried fruits, cherries, plums and cocoa. On the palate it is very juicy and soft, the tannins are only noticeable in the background. A very velvety red wine in a contemporary semi-dry style that is now common in southern Italy. An ideal party wine, it tastes just as good on its own as with grilled food, buffets, pizza, pasta and much more.
