Pecorino is not only an Italian cheese, but also a white grape variety from central Italy that impresses with its intense fruitiness and fine acidity. As a result of the return to traditional grapevines, it is gaining importance again after many winemakers considered it difficult due to its fluctuating yields. The area of vines planted with Pecorino in Italy increased almost tenfold between 2000 and 2010. It is the top white wine variety for many wineries in Abruzzo, and Trebbiano is often used as the base wine.

Farnese produces its Vanita Pecorino in Terre di Chieti in Abruzzo. The wine is mainly aged in steel tanks, with 20% stored in large wooden barrels. The result is a gentle white wine with a fruity note, pear and citrus fruits are noticeable, the body is of medium weight, the finish is balanced and soft. A very convincing white wine for little money.

.

A typical Farnese wine in its perfectly crafted style.
