One of the two "grand crus" at Werther Windisch is the Lieht vineyard in Harxheim, which is reserved for Silvaner grape variety. Despite the few years since the winery was founded, Jens Windisch has already earned a reputation as a Silvaner specialist. This top wine is produced with great care. This starts with the harvest, which takes place in several stages, during which only the perfectly ripened berries are harvested. After the gentle pressing, the must is fermented in earthenware vats, whereby no cultured yeasts are used, things are left to nature to develop. The wine rests on the yeast until June of the following year after the harvest before it is bottled. Quality takes time. Jens Windisch also gives the top wines this time until he releases them for sale. This is usually only the case 2-3 years after the harvest.

The 2020 Silvaner Lieth by Werther Windisch is even a little fuller than its predecessor, here too a voluminous Silvaner. It shows the typical "vegetable tone" of the Silvaner, has a lot of extract, power and a marbled acidity that keeps the wine alive. The aroma is reminiscent of ripe yellow fruit, herbs, with mineral notes underneath. It has a lot of extract and a present fullness of fruit, the finale is impressively long. He can do something!

A wine that goes particularly well with intensive dishes such as poultry from the oven, white meat with cream sauce or hearty vegetable dishes, in which the aroma of the Silvaner can be found.

The Lieth Silvaner 2020 is the first organically certified vintage of this wine.
