A new wine from Thévenet. En Voiture Simeone is an idiom that means something like "Let's go". It is the fresher type of the two Régnié Crus from Thevenet and is aged without oak contact in concrete tanks.
The En Voiture Simone comes from a one-hectare plot with granite and slate soil, whose Gamay vines are an impressive 50 years old and give the wine a correspondingly great depth and complexity. The wine is produced using whole-cluster fermentation to obtain additional structure from the stems. Skillful as always with Charly Thevenet, the excellent 2022 vintage does the rest. It is again significantly juicier and fuller than the rather slim 2021, it is very similar to the debut of this cuvée from the 2020 vintage.
