The Nero di Troia vine, also known as Uva di Troia, is said to have been brought from Troia to southern Italy by the Greeks. It is not very productive, which is why it has been somewhat forgotten for a long time, but is now experiencing a renaissance, when winegrowing is turning to class instead of mass. It produces deep dark wines with a powerful aroma and excellently complements the popular Primitivo here in the Contessa Marina.
A nice alternative to pure single primitivos, try this soft red wine, you will be amazed.
