The Pinot Grigio is considered a white grape variety, which only conditionally correct, because the berries change at high maturity to slightly gray-reddish. If one leaves the berry skins for a certain time at the must, this copper coloring, italian = ramato, is similar to a Rosato. This type Pinot Grigio is becoming more and more popular in Northern Italy.
The Gossip Pinot Grigio ramato from di Lenardo shows a beautiful berry aroma reminicent of strawberries and elderberry, also some hay and roses are found in the scent. On the palate it is a little more powerful than the regular Pinot Grigio by di Lenardo, it has a nice freshness and a medium body. 94/100 Luca Maroni (vintage 2018)!
