Faiveley's Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes comes from vines planted between 1945 and 1969. This leads to a low yield, but gives the remaining berries more power and depth, which is then also found in the finished wine. Depending on the vintage, between 20 and 30% new wood is used for the expansion.
The excellent 2020 Burgundy vintage is reflected in this beautiful Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin. Brilliant ruby red color, this wine reveals notes of black berries, cherries and a hint of pepper on the nose, on the palate you can feel the power and concentration that combines with the delicious fruit and runs through to the long finish. Great wine, splendor when young and of course storable for a long time.
