The Chianti Classico by Brancaia is made from 100% Sangiovese grown in Castellina in Chianti and Radda in Chianti. It is prepared without the aromatic influence of wooden barrels and represents the elegant, no-frills Chianti style. Flavors like red berries and cherries are very typical here. Aromatically, this wine does not want to kill anyone. It is a wonderful food accompaniment that refreshes the palate and never tires with its finesse and structured nature. It has aromatic echoes of traditional Chianti but is prepared with much more care than in the 1960s and 70s. There is no edgy acidity or immature tannins here.
The Falstaff magazine ennobles the 2021 Chianti Classico Brancaia with 92/100 and praises the beautiful cherry fruit, the fine tannin and the drinking flow.
James Suckling awards it 93/100.
We particularly recommend it with a Bistecca alla Fiorentina, salami, BBQ or pasta and risotto dishes with mushrooms and / or vegetables.
