Due to the low harvest volume and unbroken worldwide demand for first-class white Burgundies, we will only receive a very small allocation of the 2020 vintage from Fontaine-Gagnard. These wines will therefore only be available at very short notice. Do not hesitate too long.
The 1er Cru Clos Saint Jean is located above the town of Chassagne-Montrachet and is considered one of the warmer locations, which produces voluminous and charming wines. The Chardonnay vines in the Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard plot were planted in 1970, so they have the necessary age to produce great wines. Although 2020 was a rather warm year, the wines have an elegance that can be described as classic. This extract-rich Burgundy with a very small harvest is already a treat when young. One third of the new wood blends beautifully into the juicy and at the same time structured wine without dominating it. You can drink this class wine in its early phase, if you forget it in the cellar for a few years, of course it doesn't hurt either.
