The Prail Sauvignon Blanc by Schreckbichl/Colterenzio is certainly one of the best wines of this grape variety in its class, and not only in Italy. Its variety-typical exoticism and alpine clarity and freshness inspire year after year.
The 2021 vintage has a bright green-yellow colour. The intense fruit notes are reminiscent of elderflower, freshly mown grass, gooseberries and sage. On the palate it impresses with a revitalizing freshness, despite the high ripeness of the grapes, plus fine mineral notes and lots of exotic fruit, completely without the obtrusive green notes of some Sauvignon Blancs wines. The altitude of 400-500m on calcareous soil gives this finesse. A charming white wine that also evolves very well in the bottle. You can, but don't have to, drink it young.
We particularly recommend it with vegetable dishes (asparagus!), fish and crustaceans.
