The Morgon is considered the most tannin-rich Beaujolais Cru and one of the most storable. It has the closest taste of all crus to the Pinot Noirs from Burgundy, but is of course still a Gamay with its fine fruit and a rather charming character, just like a Beaujolais should be.
Charly Thevenet is known for his very natural development method. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, using only the naturally present yeasts and without the addition of sulfur. After several months of storage in these tanks, the wine is bottled without fining or filtration, and only a little sulfur is added here.
The 2022 Morgon Tradition by Charly Thévenet is a delicious Cru de Beaujolais, elegant, soft and rich in extracts, with all the typical aromas of high-quality Gamay wines, reminiscent of white pepper, raspberries and cherries. On the palate you have a subtle and at the same time fleshy wine that impresses with its fine minerality, perfect balance and considerable length. Top!
