For Charles Magnien, Vieilles Vignes (old vines) sometimes means really old. The vines for this wine have existed for 40-100 years and are also called Pinot Magnien, the family's own Pinot Noir clone. Thr result is a juicy Gevrey Chambertin. Stylistically, it goes in the same direction as the version from younger vines, but has a touch more of everything.
2019 is another perfect vintage for Burgundy, but only with small quantity due to the drought in winter 2018/19. The wines are particularly concentrated, but always have a good structure and a lot of elegance. A classic at a very high level and a few years of maintenance.
