On the steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie, the "roasted hillside" on the northern Rhône, one of the most sought-after Syrah wines in the world have been growing for centuries. The Côte-Rôtie of Nicolas Perrin comes from the southern part of the AOP, from the areas Côte Blonde and Côte de Tupin. Nicolas Perrin strives for a wine with its own character, but also captivates with elegance and finesse, a rather feminine Côte-Rôtie, in contrast to other severe and tannin-rich variants of this wine.
2019 is a vintage of great structure and power, in the bouquet there are notes of cherries, coffee and toast, with a hint of cedar, violets and licorice. On the palate it has power, freshness and tension, the tannins are present, but perfectly ripened.
