Château Fontarèche is a winery with a very long tradition, already mentioned in 1350 in connection with viticulture in Languedoc. A stately 160 hectares of vineyards are part of the estate, which is about half of the AOC and IGP vineyards. The traditional vines of the Midi are cultivated here: Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre for the red wines, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Macabeu for the white wines.
The Corbières Vieilles Vignes is produced from grapes of old Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre vines, and no oak barrels are used. Dark berry fruit and pepper are found in the fragrance, the palate is voluminous and soft, the emphasis is on intense fruit, in the long finale, he also has a fine spicy note. A beautiful wine, priced very consumer friendly.
