Unfortunately, we have only been allocated a very small amount of the 2020 Fontaine-Gagnard wines, as a result of a small harvest and the global demand for high-quality Burgundies. Delivery is expected to be mid-June 2022.
The Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard has 12 hectares of vineyards on the Côtes de Beaune, an impressive portfolio of top locations is available here. The wines are characterized by their balance, which is why you can have a lot of fun with them early on. Nevertheless, you can of course store them for a long time, as befits great white Burgundies. Chardonnay at its best.
La Grande Montagne is a 2.78 ha 1er Cru site in Chassagne-Montracht, at the top, practically in the forest. It is said to produce very elegant and fresh wines, stylistically the very fine blade. The Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is considered the best producer of this 1er Cru location, you can see a lot of potential in this Cru. 30% new wood is used here for barrique aging. 2020 is a very good vintage with an elegant style, which is often referred to as classic. These wines will soon be in great demand.
