The Barbaresco wines by Angelo Gaja are legendary and are among the icons of Italian viticulture. The Barbaresco without a vineyard designation is the foundation of this success. One of the greatest wines of this famous origin, made from the best Nebbiolo grapes from different locations, as has a long tradition in Piedmont.

In 2019, due to the small harvest, Gaja did not separately bottle the three Barbareso single vinyards and added their grapes to this "normal" Barbaresco, which raises it above other vintages of this label. As always, matured in traditional large wooden barrels and in barriques.

2019 is a classically structured year with outstanding quality. Gaja's Barbaresco 2019 is very intense, powerful and long-lasting. One should let it rest in the cellar for a few more years before opening this treasure, although it impresses even at a young age due to its unusual density. A maturity period of at least 25 years is no problem if stored properly.

Falstaff magazine rates Gaja's 2019 Barbaresco with an incredible 96/100 points and quotes: "Sparkling, brightening ruby garnet. Fragrant, finely drawn nose of raspberries, rose petals and ripe cherries, inviting. Polished , fine-mesh tannin characterizes the wine on the palate, like a fine robe, salty, lots of ripe cherries, and a long finish in the finish."
