The Volnay Vieilles Vignes by Joseph Voillot comes from the five plots Poisots, Gigottes, Serpents, Pasquiers and Lurets, whose vines were planted in 1930, 1946 and 1973. The meticulous selection in the vineyard and in the cellar at the sorting table resulted in a beautiful Volnay, which only has the disadvantage of the extremely small harvest of 2020. It combines elegance, fruit and depth excellently, is equipped with an enchanting scent of raspberries, blueberries, a delicate note of wood and violets. Its emphatically traditional style and the top vintage 2020, which is described as classically structured, give it a nice bite, while the tannins are perfectly mature and are buffered by the high extract. A graceful beauty, or a Volnay as it is written in books.
