Valley Floor is a piece of land in the heart of the Barossa Velley. This Shiraz is selected from this excellent location with mostly very old vines (some vines are 100 years old) on the Valley Floor in the Barossa. Traditional artisan winemaking and aging in French and American barriques make it a prime example of a Barossa Shiraz, with primal power and full aroma, not a quiet appearance, but one with an impressive personality.
The 2020 vintage brought the smallest harvest in years due to the dryness of the year. The wines are therefore exceptionally concentrated, which is clearly evident in the Langmeil Valley Floor Shiraz. 14% of the barriques were new, the rest were used barrels. The Valley Floor Shiraz 2020 is of excellent quality and great intensity, thanks to the perfect growing season and low yield. There are aromas of chocolate, plums and mulberries, as well as a subtle spice note that is reminiscent of savory. There is a lot of volume on the palate, but the tannins are always gentle. In addition to the fruity aromas, there are also notes of cedar wood and vanilla in the very intense finish. A magnificent red.
