The Savagnin Cuvée Romane by Eric Thill comes from the single vineyard Les Grandes Vignes. The yield is minimal at just 25 hl/ha, as is the sulfur content of the wine. Malolactic fermentation is stopped to preserve the wine's crisp freshness, then it was stored on the lees in wooden vats for eighteen months before being bottled. The 2022 Savagnin is fresh and straightforward, subtle notes such as nuts, lime blossoms and citrus fruits characterize it, despite all its freshness it also has a beautiful length with tension and race. Great and full of character!
