The name Lafoa is reserved for the four top wines from Schreckbichl/Colterenzio. The Lafoa Sauvignon Blanc, one of the best white wines in Italy, is partly aged in tanks, large wooden barrels and barriques, from which the final cuvée is then put together. The wine has a very intense and varietal aroma, reminiscent of gooseberry, elderberry, acacia blossom and sage, plus a fine wood tone that complements the matter perfectly. On the palate, the Lafoa is powerful and fresh at the same time, lots of extract and the best balance.
The Lafoa is certainly one of the best Sauvignon Blanc in Italy. This applies in particular to the excellent 2021 vintage, which has wonderful clarity and freshness, and is slightly lower in alcohol content than its predecessors, which plays right into the varietal character of this expressive vine.
