This excellent Pinot Noir by Thörle grows on particularly limestone-rich soils around Saulheim, which give this variety great finesse. Strict selection and low yields result in a complex and profound Burgundy that sets standards in its price range. It smells of dark berries, cherries and some violets, plus the fine barrique note, which makes the wine more noble, but never dominates it. On the palate it is long and lively, the tannins are very well matured and give a pleasant structure in the minerally and long finish. Definitely try it!
