2018 is the fifth bottled vintage of the young Domaine Jolivet. The Saint-Joseph l'Instinct of this vintage is stylistically close to the opulent 2015, but more precise in expression. The Jolivet wines are always characterized by ripe grapes anyway, there are no green aromas or unripe acidity here. Nevertheless, the instinct is never even a touch overripe, you get the impression that every berry has been tested for its suitability for this wine before pressing. That’s really impressive, don’t miss it. Frank Rembold in September 2020.
Bastien Jolivet claims to have understood each of his nine parcels now and therefore bottled the best result of his young winemaking career. We totally agree with him. The Instinct 20178 thrills and will do so for many years if you don't drink it before.
