Rabourcé is a 1er Cru vineyard in Rully, on the Côte Chalonnaise. At the Domaine Belleville it is planted with Chardonnay vines that have a fairly high average age of 40 years. This gives substance and aromatic complexity.
This 1er Cru has a clay/limestone soil and is completely south facing. It is the warmest Cru in Rully, so the wine is correspondingly opulent, it is intense, but also mineral, with great length in the finish and fat on the ribs. Here the optimal reading time is crucial. At Domaine Belleville, they always know how to harvest early enough to preserve finesse and freshness, but also to wait long enough for the grapes to reach their full physiological maturity.
The Rully Rabourcé 2020 is a gem. The vintage has a nice aromatic coolness and a good extract, which goes perfectly with this warm 1er Cru vineyard. The fine oak note enhances the aroma and gives structure, the wine is long and juicy, with aromas of flowers and white fruits in the finish. A very nice white Burgundy with aging potential.
