This Nebbiolo d'Alba grows in the Roero area, west of the Tanaro river. Bel Colle ages the La Reale partly in traditionally large oak barrels and also in Allier barriques. Violets, raspberries and dried fruit characterize its bouquet. On the palate, it has a medium to full body and relatively soft tannins for a Nebbiolo, so you can drink it relatively young with much enjoyment.
After all, the Gambero Rosso awarded the 2016 La Reale with two glasses (due bicchieri), a high rating in this price range. Quote Gambero Rosso: "The mission and ambition of this authentic Nebbiolo d'Alba is to introduce interested wine drinkers to the world of Nebbiolo grape variety, which they do with a first-class price / enjoyment ratio". Right!
