Lance is the name for the fast elegant boats that are used in Sicily to transport the grapes. The logo on the label of Cantine Paolini Nero d'Avola depicts the sails of two Lance boats.
The Nero d'Avola is the highest quality of the native red wines of Sicily. The "Black from Avola" results in round and juicy red wines, which are usually not as extremely dark, as "black" suggests. The Paolini Nero d'Avola has aromas of ripe cherries and raspberries. The taste is juicy, with soft tannins and a balanced finish.
