For the Chianti DOCG Poggiotondo , Alberto Antonini goes courageously and elaborately ways like the fermentation with natural yeast and hand-picking, methods that are normally standard in much higher price classes. The Chianti Poggiotondo consists of the Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes and grows in the western part of the Chianti area where, due to its proximity to the sea, the climate is milder what results in well balanced wines. It is fermented and aged in cement tank and large wooden barrels until bottling.
The Poggiotondo Chianti has fine fragrances reminiscent of oregano and cherries. On the palate, it has a fresh tannin scent and again this fine cherry note, which he already shows in the scent. An elegant Chianti, perfectly made and really worth every penny! Organic wine.
