The Blacksmith Cabernet is a tribute to the Langmeil founder Christian Auricht, who was a blacksmith by profession and planted his first vines in Australia in the mid-19th century.
Winemaker Paul Lindner describes the style of the 2019 vintage as lush, dark, rich and long-lasting. However, due to the persistent drought in this vintage, the harvest is very low.
As befits a Cabernet, the Blacksmith from Langmeil is bursting with juicy blackcurrants, ripe blackberries and black olives, plus a toasty spiciness from the barriques, which gives the wine aromatic nobility. Voluminous, opulent and with great concentration on the palate, long-lasting finish and well balanced despite its fullness. Great!
