Arroya Seco in Monterey is an ideal region for growing Burgundy varieties due to the long growing season. No wonder the Wente Riva Ranch Pinot Noir 2014 awarded "Double Gold" at the San Francisco Wine Competition. The wine is composed of eight different Pinot Noir clones, which bring to their location the best results.
2017 again was a very fine vintage in Monterey, which is why the wine has an exceptional intensity and perfectly matured tannins. 50% were aged in new French oak barrels, the remaining 50% in used barrels. Aromas of cherries, cranberries and black tea can be found in this wine, on the palate it is supple and very long-lasting. A lovely US Pinot.
