The 2018 is the second vintage of Zolla Primitivo Riserva appeared. He climbs in straight away and was awarded a gold medal at the largest international wine award, Mundus Vini. Luca Maroni also awarded 95/100 points. It grew in the Manduria cultivation zone, which is considered the best terroir for the Primitivo grape variety.
The Zolla Riserva is made from particularly good Primitivo grapes and stored longer in barriques than the standard version of this wine. It smells of cherries, blackberries and vanilla. On the palate it is enormously substantial, dense and opulent, a red wine with a silky fruity fullness and emphasized soft tannins. Another beauty from Fantini-Farnese, in keeping with the contemporary style of the multiple Winery of the Year (according to Luca Maroni).
